Start with the Right Soy Milk
Look for unsweetened, plain soy milk without added thickeners or gums (These can interfere make the process less reliable – and who needs extra additives!)
We use West Life™ Organic Unsweetened Soymilk Plain. Most often it comes from Walmart. It is usually in the beverage aisle, not the milk cooler.
We’ve also heard of people having success with Edensoy Unsweetened Organic Soymilk.
Different probiotics make different flavors. Here’s the one we like the best, so far. We keep the bottle in the refrigerator.
Basic Idea
- Place a cooking safe glass bowl or jar in your instant pot.
- Fill the bowl or jar with room temperature soy milk.
- Stir in probiotic
- Set the Instant Pot on “Yogurt”
- Come back in 8-12 hours and eat or refrigerate.
If you use a cheese cloth and strain it, it makes an amazing vegan sour cream.
