I’ve been to the City Museum in St. Louis twice--once in winter, once in spring.
It’s a museum in an old shoe factory. Some of the ramps for the shoes have been turned into slides. They were a little fast and a little scary. I only went on two. My mom had on a furry sweater, and went so fast on the metal that she kept going on the tile floor after the slide stopped!
We don’t always get souvenirs from activities, but my siblings got shoe laces from the antique factory on the second floor the first time, and I got them the second time. The salesperson at the second one gave me too small of laces, so I had to order the right size online when we got home. The shoe laces stay tied better than the ones that come with our jogging shoes. We really like that you can choose two different colors so your shoes are an expression of you. Each of my brother’s and mine are very different, but my sister’s are two very similar, but not identical, colors.

The roof was closed due to weather in the winter. You can only buy entrance onto the roof when you are at the museum because it closes during storms. If you don't buy a ticket when you enter for the roof, you can hunt around and find another ticket seller near the circus area before you go to the elevator for the roof.

There’s a school bus with front wheels that hang off the roof. You can get on it from the back door and sit in some seats. You can open the front doors, but there’s a screen covering it so you can’t fall out.
There’s a wire climbing cage. One part is in the shape of an airplane. You can even climb up in a tree-looking tower.

There is some turf to crawl on, and a hippo to climb on.

There’s a dome with spinning chairs under a giant praying mantis slide. You have to lay flat on the slide so you don’t get stuck.

If you go up some steps, there’s a small ferris wheel so you can see even more of the city.
There’s also a climbing wall to go up, and you can slide down the other side.
Inside is a treehouse. It starts on the first floor and goes to floors above with fake trees and lots of steps and bars to climb across. I slid down a small slide and landed with a THUD!
At Christmas, there was an adorable craft room for making paper gingerbread men or cards or something.

There is a beautiful old organ in the room with a long slide that takes you to the cave in the basement. It's really fun to watch and listen to the organ play.
There’s a one-person circus show. (Check show times.)

There's a slide from the third floor to the first. It is super fun.
